NEWS AND EVENTS

Are you as excited as we are about the brand-new trail being developed at Rhinoceros Creek? A loop offering diverse habitats and views in a relatively short distance, it is cut  through areas dominated by stubborn invasives for decades. We need your help getting them under control. On Sunday, February 16, we are focusing on cutting vines, a very satisfying task that opens up beautiful views rather quickly.

This is a great way to get fresh air, exercise, make friends, earn service credits. Meet at the pavilion on the southwest parcel of Rhinoceros Creek Reservation. Entrance off Route 202, immediately south of the Stone House meadow.  All ages welcome. Bring loppers; wear warm clothes, sturdy shoes and work gloves. Photograph © Lauretta Jones

PUT THIS ON YOUR CALENDAR NOW. Learn about the newly cut trails at Rhinoceros Creek Reservation. Ask about plans for the coming year as the Somers Land Trust continues to preserve and enhance open space in our town. Support us by purchasing a t-shirt sporting our brand-new logo.

It's all happening at the Town House in January.

Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
